It's interesting to see how casual and at home cyclists look in Belgium and Holland. In the UK they wear helmets  protective gear and high-vis clothing. They look determined and have the body language of someone involved in a gladiatorial sport.

The Adolf Buylstraat is one of Ostend's most fashionable shopping streets. It's the place to go to see what's new and to be seen.

I am always fascinated by how the fashion sense varies in different neighbourhoods. There can be a completely different predominant style just a street or two away. There are definitely more fashionista's to be seen in the Adolf Buylstraat than in other streets in Ostend, Belgium.

Poodles of fashion

Stylish lady walking her poodles in Scarborough

Poodles can be seen in paintings going back as far as 1533. The poodle as a fashion accessory was popularized by French noblewomen, who enjoyed styling the dog's fur.

Poodles remain a popular companion and many people dress, trim and style their pets. The lady I photographed above was out for a stroll with her three poodles, wearing a casual stylish jacket, boots and jeans.
