Casually kitted out for a summer stroll in the park, Peter has everything he needs with him. It's interesting how the fashion in men's bags has developed and they're now often worn with a shoulder strap across the body.

It's interesting to see how casual and at home cyclists look in Belgium and Holland. In the UK they wear helmets  protective gear and high-vis clothing. They look determined and have the body language of someone involved in a gladiatorial sport.

The Adolf Buylstraat is one of Ostend's most fashionable shopping streets. It's the place to go to see what's new and to be seen.

I am always fascinated by how the fashion sense varies in different neighbourhoods. There can be a completely different predominant style just a street or two away. There are definitely more fashionista's to be seen in the Adolf Buylstraat than in other streets in Ostend, Belgium.

Poodles of fashion

Stylish lady walking her poodles in Scarborough

Poodles can be seen in paintings going back as far as 1533. The poodle as a fashion accessory was popularized by French noblewomen, who enjoyed styling the dog's fur.

Poodles remain a popular companion and many people dress, trim and style their pets. The lady I photographed above was out for a stroll with her three poodles, wearing a casual stylish jacket, boots and jeans.

In the street you see so many people, like this young professional, constantly on the phone or texting. Mobiles are a fashion accessory, and increasingly they're a lot more than just a phone.

Mobile devices like tablets, Smartphones and the like may soon relegate the good old PC to the technology museum. Not a new idea on my part as you can see from this article.

This chap visiting the Belgian coast, on the promenade in Ostend looked a little confused. He stood there for about two minutes just looking around. The pattern on his cap and vivid stripes on his shirt caught my eye.

Rock rebellion. Jesus and Mary Chain cool. 

I looked up alternative Scottish rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain. They began playing live in Spring 1984. "In the early days Jim Reid's guitar would be left out of tune, while Dalglish's drumkit was limited to two drums, and Hart's bass guitar only had three strings, down to two by 1985; In Hart's words "that's the two I use, I mean what's the fucking point spending money on another two? Getting started

I've wanted to launch this blog for quite a while now. Over the years I've built up a body of work that fits here.

My street photography blog celebrating people who express their individuality through their own sense of fashion.

I really enjoy seeing how people express their individuality, and how they feel, through what they wear on any given day. Some people have turned it into an art form.

Tremendous thought, effort and creativity go into styling themselves and projecting a particular image.

Others take far less effort but nobody can avoid expressing themselves through the clothes they choose to wear - and even corporate workers can make subtle statements.

True free expression is what I really like to see though.

The individuals and diverse fashions you encounter on the street are endlessly fascinating.
